FWD: Day Story

After lunch I was full of restless energy so I careened around the outskirts of west Houston on my bike. I took a few photos, wandered around some various shops and exercised the hell out of my legs. In Houston drivers really have no concept of a bike lane and at parts along Richmond I was signaled to get off the road by various people's middle fingers. In contrast to my right to be biking there, I probably should not have been on the Richmond bike lane. The traffic is high and the lane itself is improperly maintained. As it is, biking the Houston bike lanes are difficult enough. To just stay in the lane while avoiding four inch deep cement cracks and miscellaneous shrapnel leftover from automobile accidents requires some dramatic maneuvering. At one point I saw a group doing "Laughter Yoga" today, there haha-hee-haaing was great to watch. In my mind I joined in. Eventually I ran out of steam and picture space on my camera's memory card. I was tired and sweaty. I came home and had a topo chico and a long chat with my neighbor's cat.
